On June 5th, the China Printing and Dyeing Industry Association grandly held the "2024 China Garment and Apparel Printing Development Conference and Creative Printing Technology Exchange Meeting" in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. With the theme of "Innovation and Creativity, New Quality and New Trends," this conference invited guests from outstanding enterprises, prestigious universities, and branded apparel companies across the upstream and downstream of the garment and apparel printing industry chain to engage in deep exchanges and discussions on the current hotspots and difficult issues of common concern in the industry.
More than 100 leaders and experts including Lin Lin, President of the China Printing and Dyeing Industry Association, Chen Zhihua, Supervisor, Li Ruiping, President of the Garment and Clothing Printing Branch, Zhang Hongtao, Executive Vice President of Shenzhen Design Association, Tan Zhiqiang, Director of the Advisory Committee of Dongguan Humen Garment and Clothing Printing Industry Association, Liu Jinzhi, Executive President and Vice President of Yishion Group, Li Ming, Deputy Secretary-General, and well-known clothing brands and printing and processing enterprises from all over the country, experts and representatives from well-known universities and research institutes attended the meeting.
During the conference, Lin Lin, President of the China Printing and Dyeing Industry Association, delivered a speech, and ten guests including Yuan Xianmin, Deputy General Manager of Guangdong PO-TRY, YVISON, Executive Director of Shenzhen Fashion Design Association, Chen Dahuan, Senior Manager of JD Retail South China Children's Wear, and Professor Wang Xueyan from Xi'an Polytechnic University, were invited to give special reports.
In her speech, Lin Lin, President of the China Printing and Dyeing Industry Association, said that the current textile printing and dyeing industry has embarked on a new journey of promoting the construction of a modern industrial system with new-quality productivity. The industry is accelerating the cultivation and development of new-quality productivity characterized by technological productivity, cultural productivity, and green productivity. As an important part of the textile printing and dyeing industry chain, the garment and clothing printing industry has strong technological innovation capabilities and profound cultural and creative connotations. The high-quality development of the industry is crucial to promoting the modernization of China's textile printing and dyeing industry.
Yuan Xianmin, Deputy General Manager of Guangdong Baocai Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd., delivered a special report titled "Technical Analysis of Digital Transfer Printing Process".
Mr. Yuan pointed out that the heat transfer printing process can meet the production requirements of small orders with quick turnaround and flexible manufacturing. It has the advantages of high printing accuracy, short production cycle, energy saving, environmental protection, and rich colors, making it the mainstream process of current transfer printing.
The main direction for the future development of the digital printing industry is to be more intelligent, efficient, and environmentally friendly. The personalization and diversification of consumer demand will drive changes in market demand structures, and enterprises need to adjust their product strategies in a timely manner based on market demand.
The digital printing industry boasts immense development space and potential. After nearly 15 years of growth, the current heat transfer printing equipment has already achieved mass production, scale expansion, and low-cost manufacturing.
Looking ahead, Mr. Yuan believes that the R&D directions and key areas of improvement for heat transfer printing lie in refining mechanical structures, enhancing the performance of control boards, upgrading the technology of printheads and inks, proposing more mature application solutions, and continuously upgrading software and hardware.
Yvison, the founder of NONHUMAN and Executive Director of Shenzhen Fashion Design Association, pointed out three trends in the consumption of streetwear brands when introducing them: first, the rapid growth of personalized and differentiated demands; second, the rise of domestic streetwear brands based on cultural self-confidence; third, the enhanced awareness of sustainable development among consumers. Correspondingly, the printing technology requirements for streetwear brands are as follows: first, it must be able to achieve small-batch production while ensuring beauty in details; second, it should emphasize intellectual property protection and strengthen original creation; third, it should use environmentally friendly materials and green technologies in the production process.
Chen Dahuan, Senior Manager of Children's Wear in JD Retail's South China Region, delivered a special report titled "Sharing Consumer Trends in Children's Wear Categories." He introduced that down jackets with multiple protective functions such as windproof, waterproof, wear-resistant, and cold-resistant, as well as thermal underwear focused on warmth retention through fleece lining, are the dominant categories in JD's children's wear market. Meanwhile, children's pants with shorts and capris as core products, featuring clear scenario-based demands, children's T-shirts emphasizing quick-drying, sweat-absorbing, and odor-resistant functional attributes, sun-protective clothing made of lightweight materials for UV protection, and traditional Chinese-style costumes and dresses embodying the essence of Chinese culture are all categorized as opportunities in the children's wear market.
Professor Wang Xueyan from Xi'an Polytechnic University delivered a special report titled "Special Printing Technologies and Development Trends in Garment Industry." Through abundant case studies, she elaborated on the production principles, technological processes, and product features of various special printing techniques, including simulation printing, dynamic shadow printing, three-dimensional printing, fragrance microcapsule printing, transfer printing, flock printing with three-dimensional effects, digital inkjet printing, and rubber printing. Looking ahead, production enterprises are encouraged to focus on strengthening the research, development, and application of new materials, new processes, new equipment, and new technologies, aiming to develop printed products that combine practicality with fashion, technology with art, and wearability with aesthetic appreciation.
In addition, other experts and representatives from enterprises also delivered special reports. The participants listened attentively and shared their views on the current development issues in the textile and apparel printing industry, sparking thought-provoking discussions and jointly promoting the high-quality development of the printing industry.
At the conference, Jia Bin, Secretary-General of the Garment and Apparel Printing Branch of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, announced the "Decision on Releasing the List of Selected Works and Enterprises for the 2024 'China Garment and Apparel Printing Excellence' Awards." A total of 31 enterprises were awarded the Gold, Silver, Bronze, Excellence, and Special Awards in the 2024 "China Garment and Apparel Printing Excellence" competition.
