Guangdong PO-TRY Participated in the compilation of the first color standard for digital printing to promote high-quality development of the industry.

In recent years, the development of digital printing technology is very fast, based on its small single fast reverse, personalised, less water or even waterless environmental protection and other advantages, favoured by the market. But the digital printing industry, because the colour caused by countless problems, such as designers design the colour gamut will sometimes exceed the printer’s colour gamut range and can not be reproduced, in the final analysis, or the lack of standards.

As an expert in digital printing overall solutions, Guangdong Baocai focuses on the application and research of textile digital printing, adheres to technological innovation, and actively promotes industry behavioral norms and standardization. Together with the Guangdong Textile Engineering Society, it participates in the preparation of the Guangdong Textile Group Standard T/GTES5-2024 “Textile Digital Printing Color Card High Temperature Dispersion Process”, aiming to provide color reference standards for the industry.

Guangdong Baocai is one of the first companies to compile digital printing color standards, and General Manager Weng Changfu personally participated in the compilation of the standard.

On May 23, the 2024 Lingnan Science Forum series of activities “Low-carbon Promotes Green Textiles for a Better Life-Digital Printing Color Technology Conference” was held in Guangzhou, guided by the Guangdong Association for Science and Technology and hosted by the Guangdong Textile Engineering Society. It attracted many media such as “China Science Daily”, “Lingnan Science Forum”, Toutiao, NetEase News, Sohu News, and Electric Shock News to report first.

At the meeting, the first textile digital printing color group standard – Guangdong Provincial Group Standard “Digital Printing Color Card, High Temperature Dispersion Process” was officially released, and the Guangdong Provincial Digital Printing Color Research Center was also awarded.

Mr. Weng delivered a keynote speech at the conference: “The Importance of Digital Printing Standard Colors to the High-Quality Development of the Digital Printing Industry”.

02 Pain points of digital printing color management:

Due to the lack of a mature color management system, color control relies entirely on the experience of operating staff, resulting in no reference for early color adjustment in digital printing and large color variations in later reproduction. Especially for reactive dye direct-injection printing, there is always a large difference between the color of the computer screen, the actual proofing color, and the final product color, which causes great trouble to printing companies.

03 The importance of standard colors to the industry:

If the digital printing industry can have an acceptable range of color standards, just like the dyeing industry now has a series of standards, including light source standards and color difference standards. If the printing industry has such standards, then the communication consistency on color will be much better.

Therefore, the printing industry should establish unified standards, such as initiating the establishment of electronic color information standards, so that colors can be transmitted and realized based on the same platform. This is the long-term solution to the color problem.

Lu Shaobo, chairman of the Guangdong Textile Engineering Society, also said: Although my country’s textile industry is huge, there is still a certain gap with European and American countries in terms of standards and brands, especially in terms of standards and market access, which are mostly restricted by European and American countries.

It is hoped that the release of the Guangdong Provincial Group Standard “Digital Printing Color Card, High-temperature Dispersion Process” and the digital printing color card can be applied to domestic enterprises to the greatest extent and gradually go global.
